We’ve all been there, amirite? Wait … no, we really haven’t.
A Bears fan is in hot legal water after allegedly using a stun gun on his Packers fan wife during the clash between the two teams on Monday night.
John Grant, 42, appeared in court on Tuesday to answer charges of using an electronic weapon.
Oh, good lord. So, what happened?
Mayville (Wisc.) police were summoned to a place called Dan’s King Pin (sounds awesome) at 12:39 a.m. Tuesday morning to speak to a woman who said her husband used a stun gun on her three times while at Sideline’s Tap (even better).
Apparently, the two had been outside smoking cigarettes when Grant apparently stunned her twice on her butt and once on her thigh. But why? According to Grant, the two had made a bet on the game, since he loves the Bears and she’s an avowed Cheesehead. If the Packers lost, she would be shocked with the stun gun.
See? It just goes to show that smoking is definitely hazardous to your health.
Police reviewed the woman’s texts and videos on her cell phone and came to the conclusion that the bet was true and the wife did consent. That doesn’t make using the stun gun any less illegal in this case.
But it does beg the question: She agreed to have her husband use a STUN GUN on her if the Packers lost and then she got upset when it was time to pay up?
Nevermind, I shouldn’t bother trying to use common sense here.
Grant could face up to $10K in fines and six years in prison if convicted. And a lifetime of sleeping on the couch, regardless.
