Pounceys apologize for ‘Free Hernandez’ headwear

Well, two big dummies have seen the error of their ways.

Mike and Maurkice Pouncey, NFL offensive linemen and former Florida Gators, have apologized for wearing hats in support of their college buddy, Aaron Hernandez.

The identical twins were seen at a nightclub sporting the headgear which said “Free Hernandez.” In case you didn’t know, Hernandez was Mike’s roommate during their days at state prison The University of Florida.

Well, it appears a day later, the two have changed their minds. Wow, who knew that a quick backlash would lead to such a change of heart?

In case you’re wonder what he said, here it is:

“I fully recognize the seriousness of the situation involving my former teammate, and I regret that my actions appear to make light of that serious situation. I apologize to anyone who was offended by my actions.”

Well, that was nice of the publicist Maurkice to write. But that doesn’t let him off the hook.

Now, we understand that playing pro football leads to a lot of hits to head. We understand that. We also understand that Florida doesn’t produce many Nobel laureates. However, these two brothers have apparently been swallowing stupid pills by the dozen.

Mike and Maurkice, please pay attention: STOP SHOWING PUBLIC SUPPORT FOR A MAN ACCUSED OF MURDER.

That is all. Go back to practice and shut up.
